Lyndel's healthcare experience has been in hospitals, weight management, cancer care, community and mental health settings, and as a dietetic services manager. She has worked on a freelance basis since 1993. This has included ongoing healthcare work (currently in level 3 specialist NHS obesity clinics in Birmingham) and six years as spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association (BDA).

Her work and experience encompass: consulting for weight management, PR and food industry businesses and the media; book and feature writing; speaking; broadcasting; radio and television (expert for BBC1 Diet Trials, UKTV Farm of Fussy Eaters); report and copy writing; training; and clinical practice.
